IMPORTANT INFORMATION
THE FRINGE WANTS YOU TO KNOW
Prepare yourself for six days, and over 180 live Fringe Theatre experiences July 9-13, 2008.
Combined with dynamic indoor performances, the Regina International Fringe Theatre Festival will feature
a fantastic street performance scene, great food, and affordable programming for families (indoors and out).
Fringe Theatre Festivals serve as forums to bring artists and audiences together in a fun, safe, and exploratory
environment. The Fringe’s guiding principles involve uncensored artistic expression, accessibility, and community
development. The Fringe encourages artists and audiences to explore boundaries and make bold choices in
the creation of art.
The Regina International Fringe Theatre Festival is recognized by the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals, a
North American non-profit network of like-minded Fringe Festivals dedicated to increasing the access of Fringe
theatre for artists and audiences.
Fringe Performers and playwrights can find information on how to apply to participate in the Performers Area.
Do you want to Fringe? Learn how to enjoy the Fringe experience by visiting Fringing 101 on the
About The Fringe page.
The Canadian Fringe Festival model does not jury or censor the artists' work in any way. Theatre companies
are selected in a non-juried manner and those given a "slot" work within the technical guidelines of the
Festival to produce their own art. Artists receive 100 per cent of the revenue generated from the set ticket
price. Festival patrons are offered physically and financially accessible arts experiences, and are encouraged
to enter into dialogues with the artists and other audience members.
